HISTORY OF THE CLUB
At Driftwood Cabana Club, we’re all about families. Our family – the Stavola family – has operated Driftwood since 1957, when Michael J. Stavola built the original club on the beachfront in Sea Bright. Over the next nearly six decades, we’ve continued to grow and upgrade our facilities, serving thousands of families and generations of the same families, who come back year after year to the place where so many of their cherished summer memories were made.
We’ve also faced our challenges. After the widespread devastation caused by SuperStorm Sandy in 2012, portions of our club were completely destroyed. But we used that opportunity to rebuild even better and stronger facilities and to enhance the club with virtually brand-new cabanas, decks, and other features. And, as we promised our members, we opened the 2013 summer season on time! Indeed, we were the first beach club to reopen after the storm.
Finally, we believe in the concept of Family First, and we are committed to providing a safe, positive and welcoming environment in which families can relax and enjoy their time together, and with friends, on the beautiful Jersey Shore.
It’s been our pleasure serving families at Driftwood Cabana Club for 59 years. We’d like to thank you for sharing your summers with us and we are looking forward to many more happy summers together.
