PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Nearly 11 years after Hurricane Charley destroyed homes in Charlotte County, some of those residences are being rebuilt.
Commercial Electrical Systems has been awarded the Fire alarm and Nurse Call for the The Verandas of Punta Gorda, located off Airport Road. The project consists of 150 low-income housing units destroyed by the hurricane.
Funding to rebuild the homes — in the form of federal tax credits– were recently provided to the Punta Gorda Housing Authority.
